A Note From Cate: 2021 Progress So Far
A quarterly note from BBCIC Executive Director Cate Lockhart, MS, PharmD, PhD.
July 2021
Dear BBCIC Participants and Supporters,
Happy Summer!
I’m pretty sure I have been, and will continue to be, amazed that it is already July (or “Already <insert every month here>” for that matter)! Nevertheless, I’m really proud to brag about the progress of BBCIC in moving our research priorities and infrastructure priorities forward in 2021. So far in 2021 we have published three manuscripts, have another two submitted for peer review, and seven (SEVEN!!) currently in preparation. Some of this progress was made possible with the help of several incredibly sharp students and post-doctoral fellows we have been lucky enough to engage. We have presented two posters, have another two accepted for presentation, four submitted for meetings this year, and several others planned for submission later this year. We completed one infrastructure research study and are full-steam-ahead with our complex comparative safety and effectiveness study of granulocyte colony stimulating factors. That is just in 2021. Just so far THIS YEAR!
So I have to say CONGRATULATIONS to all of BBCIC for your ongoing support, enthusiasm, and perseverance to continue to produce high-quality, important research. And I have to say THANK YOU for all those same reasons. We are tiny but mighty!
I also would like to highlight the BBCIC Annual Spring Meeting, which was held virtually for participants on June 16-17, 2021. Even though we were unable to meet in person, it was just as energizing and interesting as always. We discussed all the things we have been up to this year, but also explored some really exciting opportunities and ideas to move us forward. Please review the summary of the meeting in this newsletter, and don’t hesitate to get in touch with us with your questions and ideas! We look forward to your participation in one (or more!) of the numerous volunteer opportunities with BBCIC.
It takes a village to raise a consortium, and we are grateful for your continued support and engagement!
Kind Regards,
Cate Lockhart, MS, PharmD, PhD
